Hi-temperature Quality Cartridge Heaters for Excellent Heat Transfer Efficiency. With Replaceable Thermocouple. Not Just for Runner-less Anymore. For many years the replaceable MgO insulated thermocouple has been a feature of bushings, torpedoes, Sensitwin® and integrally heated nozzles. These are all components unique to our runnerless systems.
Available in 3 Sizes: This proven feature is now available on 3/8", 1/2", and 5/8" diameter Hi-Temp Cartridge Heaters. Contact SFP for other dimensions, including metric. A miniature stainless steel tube thermowell is swagged into the heater assembly; a .020" diameter stainless steel sheathed MgO insulated "J" type thermocouple is inserted into the thermowell.
Less Downtime: Thermocouple failures can be attributed to contamination, oxidation or abuse, at which time the conventional cartridge heater with a permanently positioned thermocouple must be removed from its application. This maintenance downtime can result in a costly loss of production.
No Need to Remove Cartridge: The replaceable thermocouple feature not only eliminates the necessity of removing the cartridge heater, but the cost of the heater/thermocouple combination is also not required. Reduced maintenance labor for the thermocouple replacement vs. that of the heater/thermocouple should be experienced.
Position TC Anywhere: The replaceable thermocouple also has a unique feature of being able to be positioned to any depth of penetration along the thermowell length. In this manner, internal temperatures at any position can be monitored for heat distribution.
